HEPOK - philosophy
New HEPOK Ljubuški achieved, stepping ahead to modernization of production cycle (directed and controlled activities in vineyards, primal processing and nourishing of wines) high quality level, so all wines, produced in Ljubuski wine cellar, will have either Quality Wine mark or Superb Quality mark. Some of the wines are already placed in oak barriques, granting excellent quality and singular experience.
Experience that you can easily turn into plural.
HEPOK strategy and goal is to produce fresh and young wines, having extraordinary fruitiness, easy to drink but strong and special enough to be memorable.
HEPOK wines are, through controlled process, prepared for consummation in their natural state. Superb freshness and fruitiness are best to serve with good meal, in good company and occasions which, thanks to HEPOK, can become unforgettable.
HEPOK - PRODUCTION
More than a century HEPOK is producing superb wines: Žilavka, Blatina and Merlot, working as a pioneer on international market, promoting autochthonous Herzegovina varieties and their extraordinary quality.
During one period of time, in accordance to socialist economy planning, production was based more on quantity than on quality. Quality wines Žilavka, Blatina, Merlot Samotok Crni and Samotok Bijeli, together with numerous table wines were the basis for the production.
HEPOK - vineyard production
On 150 ha currently planted with Blatina, Žilavka, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Zweigelt, Blue Frank, Pinot Noir, Plavac and other varieties, on Ljubuški valley fertile soil, under the cherishing Herzegovina Sun, HEPOK winemakers nourishes fruits, applying special combination of methods.
Centuries of tradition, upgraded with modern knowledge and technology results with extremely healthy grapes, with high level of fruit and sugar, creating a foundation for superb quality wines of extraordinary flavour.
HEPOK - first impression
After years of production of the old and well established brands (MERLOT, ŽILAVKA, BLATINA, ROSE, Herzegovina LOZA) HEPOK decided to step forward into young wine promotion in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
Under supervision of Sebastiana Lerclh - FIRST IMPRESSION - first young wine in Ljubuški was produced!
First Impression is cuvee made mainly out of Žilavka, having extraordinary fruity flavour, fresh and easy to drink. Main Zilavka characteristic is that it develops very good in the bottle, makes this young wine even better after some time. Behind new, modern, label there is memorable young wine, recommended to everybody who ever tasted Zilavka.
HEPOK - HOME OF BLATINA
Blatina is one of the few remained female varieties. Unlike others she is not hermaphrodite (bisexual), demanding special care and nursery to bear fruits. Blatina is mainly impregnated with Allicante bouschet and Trnjak male flower, who are planted as satellites.
Since it is well known that superb wine can only rise under special circumstances, Blatina is having additional charm.
As of 2005. HEPOK is applying new picking system, extracting Blatina from its satellites. Up to now, Blatina was known only as cuvee made out of Blatina and its satellites.
New Blatina, the Only Real Blatina is unique on multiple levels, having great potential and providing unique taste to consumers, as only carefully nourished female could do. If you pay enough attention to Blatina she will give it all back with unique experience. Blatina is known as a "house wine" of HEPOK Winery Ljubuski and has been strongly accepted by the international market, esspecially in Germany.
