Merlot is one of the most spread varieties in the world. Variety has a very long tradition, originating in France. Extraordinary Herzegovina terroir and rare combination of micro climates gives special character to this international variety.
HEPOK Vineyards, planted and nourished on the fertile soil of Trebižat river valley, next to the town of Ljubuski, are one of the best in Herzegovina. The region is very well known for excellent red wines, even since the Greek times.
The terroir of Ljubuski is determined by the mountains in the North and Adriatic Sea in the South. Being on the border between Continental and Mediterranean climate creates unique conditions for excellent red wines.
The best grapes are selected from the prime locations, collected by hand and cooled in the vineyard, immediately after picking. Minimum of 20 days of temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel fermenters, ripening in special French made oak barriques, constant analyses and regular hygienic controls are the up to date standards we apply, but the key secrets for extraordinary wines hides within the great Merlot tradition and knowledge only HEPOK winemakers have.
This special selection red wine has gorgious taste and extraordinary character, but also excellent ageing potential, one of the few wines you can enjoy any time, from now to the distant future.
Full bodied dry red wine with balanced sweetness in aroma. Soft tannin structure dressed in Cardinal Red colour, distinguish fruit flavor and divine taste makes Merlot as good as the best wines in the world. Merlot is not hiding its Herzegovina origin which makes it outstanding amongst the international Merlots.
