The Žilavka is autochthon West-Herzegovina variety and well known trough the centuries. The Žilavka wine achieves high quality, and has been recognized and awarded numerous times.

Geographical Origin, Soil and Climate

Žilavka has geographically protected origin, and is exclusive for Mostar region. The HEPOK Vineyards, planted and nourished on fertile soil of Trebižat river valley, next to town of Ljubuski, are one of the best in Herzegovina region.
The terroir of Ljubuski is determined by the Mountains in the North and Adriatic Sea in the South. Being on the border between Continental and Mediterranean climate creates unique conditions for excellent wines.

Fermentation and Production

The grapes are harvested by hand and cooled in the vineyard, immediately after picking. Temperature controlled fermentation, stainless steel tanks, constant analyses and regular hygienic controls are the up to date standards we apply, but the key secrets for extraordinary wines lies in the great tradition and knowledge of HEPOK winemakers.

Wine Description

Žilavka Mostar is very dry wine, with harmonic, reductive and fruity taste. The acidity is well balanced, and the colour remains beautiful greenish-yellow. Modern type of wine, combining the best out of Herzegovina climate.

- recommended with white meat, white fish, clamps, shells …
